Richard Schuler, age 76, of Janesville, WI died Friday, September 15, 2017 at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center. He was born in Trenton, NJ on February 7, 1941, the son of Henry and Jeanne Thibodeau Schuler. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and was a Viet Nam War Veteran. He was employed as a machinist by General Motors and moved to Janesville in 1993 to work at the Janesville facility when the plant closed in Trenton.
Richard was a member of the Hamilton Township, NJ Nottingham Volunteer Fire Company for many years and after moving to Janesville he was a member of Nativity of Mary Parish.
Richard married Patricia Salvatrese Aversano in 1985. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and son.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, Janesville. Father Rob Butz will preside. Visitation will be at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with military rites by Kienow-Hilt V.F.W. Post # 1621. Henke-Clarson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
